Welcome Daisy!
Daisy was in a foster home in Tampa for about a month before making her way to FEBR. We don’t know a lot about her (yet), but, we think she’s between 3-4 years old. She’s good with other dogs, has some scars on her elbows and has had puppies at some point.
Daisy visited Dr. Tony and she did great. Got her vaccines and tested heart worm negative (yay!). The only concern is that she drinks a ton of water. Her labs came back with elevated kidney enzymes which could mean either a UTI or early stages of kidney disease. Too early to tell. Dr. Tony is treating it as a UTI first to see how she responds to the antibiotics. And depending on how she does, we’ll go from there. So far she’s been awesome! Very low key. She has a couple little behavioral issues such as using her teeth when demanding attention and leg humping for no apparent reason-but we’re working on this! She’s crate trained & potty trained (although she does have the occasional accident if she doesn’t go out often enough due to all the water she drinks). She’s great with other dogs and social. She likes to sleep either on the floor or on a dog bed, not the couch. Cutest thing about her is how very expressive she is when she’s excited. She jumps, dances, and wags her little stump of a tail. So cute!!
