Princess

A desperate call was received from a County shelter....they had an English Bulldog in DIRE need.  Our volunteers jumped into action once more and immediately went to meet her.  Without a moment's hesitation, the Bulldog we've come to know as
"Miss Princess Stray", was transported to a local vet and fluids were immediately administered. What you are looking at is an English Bulldog that is beyond being EXTREMELY anemic due to ticks (yes, those are "some" of them in her ears) and fleas.  The vet estimates this little girl was neglected and starved for MONTHS.
Yet....she is as sweet as can be.
Is there a more truer picture of unconditional love?
Within 24 hours of being in IVs, she was finally able to stand for a short period on her own and has now been brought back to the Bully Bunkhouse for tender loving care and attention.
Miss Princess Stray is going to need additional medical care and food for some time.  If you would like to help FEBR bring hope and happiness into this little girl's world, please click on the DONATE button.  Or you may go to our "Virtual Adoption" page and virtually adopt Miss Princess until she is ready to truly go to her forever home.  She'd love to be showered with food, treats and toys....as a princess should be!

Miss Daisy

Miss Daisy is looking for someone to drive her to her new home!  She is a very sweet, healthy 5 year old bully girl who is very social with other dogs. She loves going to the beach for walks and riding in the car.  She is housebroken, mellow and great around kids.  They don't get much better than Miss Daisy!
We are taking applications for her now.

Trucker-medical hold
Let's try and keep our little Trucker Truckin! Only 10 months old, this little bully boy came to FEBR in hopes of getting some answers on his medical issues. To start, he has a bad skin condition that we are working on a diagnosis for. He has big red/raw itchy spots that are infected. Biopsies and cultures are pending and we hope we can get him on a treatment plan with the right medications soon. Next we were told by our specialist that he has a bad knee that is luxating. Surgery is needed to stablize this. The cost for this surgery alone is estimated at $1800. FEBR has already spent over $800 on tests, xrays and exams on Trucker already to find out what was going on with him. After we get his skin under control, he will have surgery on his knee. Once healed, we will re-address his hips. Yes, another issue poor Trucker has. Severe hip dysplasia. We will not know until after he recovers from his knee surgery if sugery on his hips will be needed. Either way, we feel Trucker deserves the chance to be comfortable and to walk easier and we promised him we would. Please consider helping Trucker by donating to his Chip In. Thank you from FEBR!

Max and Bella ADOPTED!!!
Looking to double your fun? Max and Bella would be perfect! They are a pair of bonded siblings who have been together all their lives. We are looking for a home with enough room for both as we will not separate them. They are in good health, very social, laid back and well mannered.  They promise to make you smile each and every day!
Applications are being accepted now.

Lily
Yes,  this was another duo of bullies that came into FEBR together.  Meatball has just been adopted
but Lily is still available.
Lily is under 2 years old, full of energy, playful
 and in good health.
Lily is social with other dogs.
FEBR decided to adopt these two separately as they were
NOT a bonded pair and Meatball tended to be a bit too protective of Lily.
She now seems happy with the decision too!

(That's Barney whispering in Lily's ear that she'll find her forever home soon!)

Ella
Ella recently joined the cast at FEBR.  She's a true delight to be around despite her allergies and current battle with pretty bad ear infections.
Ella is 3 years old and actually likes cats!
Once Ella gets her ears and allergies cleared up, as well as a good once-over medically, she'll be looking for a loving forever home that will give her the time, attention and care she truly needs and deserves.

Jelly Roll
Jelly Roll is one of our very special FEBR bullies that came to us without any training, including not being housebroken.  He has lots of wrinkles that need daily cleaning.  JR is always hopeful that someone who is knowledgeable, kind and patient with plenty of time to help him will still come find him at FEBR and ask to adopt him.

In the meantime, JR has very kindly been virtually adopted by Miss Prytania, for which we're very thankful.

Honey - ADOPTED!
Honey is a French Mastiff that we are helping find a new home.
She is about 3 years old and is very social.

Ginger
Ginger is a 3-4 year old fawn female. She loves to un-stuff pillows and make her own beds. She likes toys and seems ok with other dogs. Ginger likes to lick at the air and has some vision issues. Ginger is very loving though and is very protective of her owner.
Applications are being accepted for Ginger now.

Mack - on medical hold

Mack was rescued from a terrible situation and nearly lost his life.  He was being passed around and no one was willing to get him the medical attention he desperately needed.   FEBR stepped in and helped him through a rough time.   Mack had surgery to remove a foreign object (best guess is perhaps a part of paint roller!) that was causing a blockage in his intestines.  Very painful and life threatening!  We think Mack is about 3 years old and is a  very sweet bulldog.  Mack just isn't sure how he's suppose to strike a cute pose for the camera...we think he'd rather play with it!

May 10, 2012 UPDATE:  Mack just got his bloodwork back and it was discovered he has heartworm.  He now faces a bit of a lengthy treatment that is not easy to go through, is expensive and not always a good outcome.  However, if he doesn't have the treatment, the prognosis is even worse.  Anyone who has a dog that is outside at all needs to be sure they are always on a heartworm medication.  It's relatively inexpensive.  Otherwise, especially in Florida, you are risking the life of the dog.  Your donations to help pay for Mack's care and treatment are greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Barney

Barney is a 4 year old English Bulldog that was left at a shelter in Florida to be euthanized. His owners stated he had not been able to walk or use his back legs and they could not afford to give him medical care. Florida English Bulldog Rescue was contacted by the shelter for help.
We took Barney into our program and had him evaluated by our vets. Barney was found to have spondylosis in his lower back and a degenerative spinal issue. Rehab and physical therapy was recommmended before attempting any surgery. Barney has started physical therapy and will go 2-3 times a week for the next 6-8 weeks. The cost of the rehab will be about $1200 for 20 sessions.
Please help if you can by donating to Barney's fund and grant his wish for walking!
Thank you from Barney and FEBR!

Update 3/1/12   Barney is available for adoption and applications are being accepted on him now.

Update 5/13/12:  Barney is still looking for that very special family to adopt him.  He gets around just fine these days (see the above photo with Lily!)  He's a sweet, lovable guy that loves the sunshine and grass!
Update 5/17/12:  Barney is having a sleep-over to see if he truly wants to leave FEBR and go live with a new family.

Luckily FEBR saw Dunkin on Craigslist just in the nick of time. Being sold to the first person with $200.  Why is this an issue? Dunkin was not theirs to sell! You see, Dunkin came to FEBR 2 years ago as a mangy, cherry-eyed, goofy pup. FEBR treated him and thought he was adopted to a wonderful guy who had applied to adopt. He went through all of our background checks, passed our tests and took home a beautiful boy bully.
Little did FEBR know...this "wonderful" guy was nothing more than a LIAR.
A few weeks ago, Dunkin was found on Craigslist for sale by the FEBR team. After a little undercover work , we soon learned that Dunkin was not with his adopter. He was fraudulently adopted and given to a lady who was DENIED to adopt. Why was she denied? She had stated that she lost her other bulldog by her careless unsupervised children who let him drown in their pool. FEBR would not adopt to her. So she had her friend adopt for her.
Phones calls to micro-chip companies, police and animal control were immediately placed and a plan was set. FEBR was going on a road trip....
2.5 hours away to once again, RESCUE Dunkin.
This "wonderful" lady was shocked to find the police at her door with FEBR's team of  Thelma and Louise demanding Dunkin back. She may have beat the system for 2 years, but you know what they say....Karma will get ya in the end!
To FEBR's shock, this little 48 lbs bully that left us 2 years ago was brought to the door, barely able to walk. He had gained so much weight, he could not even breathe.  Weighing in at about 70lbs., we got him back in time. We are lucky he is here with us and not at the bottom of her pool.

Adopters...please be honest with us. We love our bulldogs and want the very best for them. We don't want them sold on Craigslist like a piece of furniture when you get tired of them. Owning a pet is a commitment. Are you ready for adoption?
