Originally found on Craigslist advertised as being "dumped in someone's yard" and then gave away to the first person that responded, Hootie eventually found his way to rescue. He never made it to an adoptive him as he was diagnosed with Lymphoma before that could happen. Hootie has now found his way over the bridge side by side with Scooch.  We hope we made his short stay at FEBR happy and more comfortable one. We are so sorry that we could not have done more for you sweet boy. RIP

Our baby Scooch is gone. For 2 years he sat in rescue waiting his turn for adoption. It never came. He was always overlooked because of his age. Coming in to rescue as a senior is never good. There are not many people willing to adopt older bullies. Scooch was at least 8-9 years old when he came to FEBR 2 years ago. He was blind and survived a horrible virus that wiped out most of a shelter only to become a rescue dog. Adopters that inquired about him would change their minds when they heard how old he was, thinking he would not be around long. Well, they were wrong, he was around for 2 more years. That is 2 long years he could have been theirs. Instead, he was ours (FEBRS). He was loved, fed and content. Even though he went from the "adoptable" page to the "rainbow" page, we will always consider him a successful rescue.
Please consider adopting a senior!

 December 2009 has been a sad ending to a year. Hunter was diagnosed with a Round Cell Carcinoma, and there was no treatment for him. His life in the end was a spoiled and loving one. He touched many hearts...Amy, Shontell, Gemma, you were all his angels. Now he is yours.

With tears falling, and hearts broke, we sadly announce that our little Bully girl Cheeky "sweet cheeks" has crossed the bridge. This was a total unexpected shock and we are still in disbelief.  Cheeky came to us as a stray and we did not have much history on her. The short time she was with us, we learned she was filled with love and could talk to you with her beautiful eyes.  Always wanting to be right next to us or in our laps, Cheeky earned her name of "Sweet Cheeks" .

FEBR'S Oliver has made his journey over the bridge. A sad end to this beautiful bullies story, Oliver's time had come. He never made it to a forever home but we here at FEBR will always consider Oliver ours. He had a tough time as a senior and found himself being rescued out of a shelter twice. Oliver had many supporters and people that cared about him while in rescue and we know he appreciated the love, the wishes, the emails and the visits from everyone. We want to keep his story and his memories alive and hope it helps another bullie not ever end up like him.

We are sad to announce that our beautiful rescue Delilah, has made her journey to the Rainbow Bridge.

Delilah’s condition was not improving and our worst fears were confirmed when her tests came back positive for colon cancer. It was so far advanced that it was already spreading to other organs. She was suffering and the doctor told us she was in pain. For 16 days she sat in a shelter while we begged to get her released. When we finally got her she was very thin but was happy to be out. She did her happy wiggle everytime she saw us. She was so sweet and innocent, and looked forward to laying in the sun everyday. She touched our hearts and many others. She even had a new for-ever home waiting for her with Nicolette. She also touched a shelter volunteers’ heart named Nancy. Delilah inspired Nancy to start the shelters “cut and sew” program, which will provide blankets for all the animals in the shelter. A sweet soul who will be deeply missed but always remembered.
We love you sweetheart and hope that you are somewhere peaceful, sleeping in the sun.

Ruby was one of our senior girls that won the hearts of a wonderful couple at one of our adoption events. Her age did not matter to them, they wanted her regardless. Ruby was loved by many. Her first foster family that found her, took her in and kept her safe until FEBR was contacted. Her 2nd foster Ronda (Maddie and Malakhi), her adoptive family and all of us her at FEBR.


From her family:  Ashley and I wanted to thank
you and her former foster family for watching over her before she came
to us. We enjoyed getting to know her and her antics. After a few days
at my house she could not stand to have me out of her sight and followed
me everywhere. She was such a sweet girl and we will never forget her. Maybe one day we will be open to adopting another one of your dogs. You
could tell that Rubes really appreciated being given a second chance at
having a family and that was very rewarding for us.

Archie passed away in his sleep at the beginning of the year. He had made it to his for ever home after his foster family fell in love with him. He was under treatment for heartworms but we feel lost the battle. (please keep your pets on heart worm preventative) Archie will be missed, but we hope he found all his bullie friends over the bridge.
